The change to the exam comes "as the 88-year-old test in recent years has slipped behind the rival ACT — a shorter exam with an optional essay — in total student customers," according to The Washington Post.

My college consultant friend Tam Warner Minton has posted on her blog about a variety of apps that make getting your kids ready for college easier. My favorite among her suggestions is one that lets your child attempt to answer a series of timed, abbreviated SAT questions.
This story is all over the web, but here's a version from USA Today. Kids who will be taking the SAT or ACT next year will have to submit photos of themselves when they sign up. This is in response to a massive cheating scandal in New York.
